Funke Heat Exchangers

Funke is a German manufacturer of gasketed plate heat exchangers, widely used across industrial, chemical, marine, and process heating/cooling applications. SRJ manufactures Funke-compatible replacement plates and gaskets engineered to match the port geometry, plate pitch, and corrugation profile of the Funke FP series, so plate packs already installed in your plant can be refreshed without any change to the existing frame.

Our Funke-compatible plates are available in SS304, SS316L, Titanium, SMO, and Hastelloy, matching the material range used across Funke units, and gaskets are supplied in EPDM, NBR, HNBR, and Viton compounds depending on your process fluid and operating temperature. Every plate and gasket is dimensionally checked and pressure-tested before dispatch, so plant engineers and procurement teams get a reliable, drop-in alternative to long OEM lead times.

SRJ manufactures replacement plates and gaskets compatible with Funke plate heat exchangers, pressed on tooling matched to original port geometry, plate profile, and gasket groove across the FP series range. Because each plate is produced to the same dimensional reference as the original, it seats correctly on the carrying bar and guiding bar of your existing frame and holds the original tightening dimension, so no frame modification is needed to fit a compatible part.

Funke plate heat exchangers are used extensively in industrial process heating and cooling, chemical processing, and marine cooling systems, where the plate pack is assembled between a frame plate and a pressure plate and compressed by tightening bolts. Over the operating life of the unit, gaskets undergo normal fatigue and the plate pack may need to be re-tightened or re-gasketed several times before a full plate replacement is required. SRJ's replacement program is built to support both routine gasket change-outs and full plate pack replacement, with reference dimensions maintained across a wide span of Funke FP models.

SRJ supports a broad range of Funke FP series models, including FP02, FP04, FP05, FP08, FP09, FP10, FP14, FP16, FP19, FP20, FP22, FP31, FP40, FP41, FP42, FP50, FP60, FP62, FP70, FP71, FP80, FP81, FP82, FP100, FP112, FP120, FP130, FP150, FP160, FP190, FP200, FP205, FP206, FP250, and FP300, along with the larger FP405 and FP2010/FP4000-series models used in higher-capacity duties. We also support FPDW (double-wall safety plate) configurations for applications where cross-contamination between fluids must be prevented.

Plates are cold-pressed to replicate the original Funke corrugation pattern, which maintains the turbulence profile the plate was designed around and keeps thermal performance and pressure rating consistent with the original nameplate rating. Material options mirror those used in genuine Funke plates - SS304 for lower-cost, lower-corrosion-duty applications, SS316L for the majority of general industrial and chemical use, Titanium for high-corrosion or seawater-adjacent applications such as marine cooling, and SMO or Hastelloy for the most aggressive process media.

Gaskets are supplied in EPDM for general water and moderate-temperature duty, NBR for oil and hydrocarbon-compatible applications, HNBR for extended chemical and thermal resistance, and Viton for higher-temperature or more aggressive chemical exposure. Gaskets can be supplied glued or clip-fit depending on your plate generation, and each batch is checked for correct groove fit prior to dispatch to ensure a secure seal after reassembly.

For Funke units where original documentation is not available - common with older marine or industrial installations - SRJ can manufacture custom plates and gaskets from a physical sample or measured drawing.
